Peter Jok has been touted by some as the next big thing to come out of Iowa. We are not sure if he will be that guy, but he is certainly a talented kid with a good skill-set and a very bright future. He has done very well against national competition and looked the past this winter at Roosevelt.
Right behind Jok is a number of very talented guys at a variety of positions. Josh Weeber put up some very impressive numbers and helped Dubuque Senior become a very solid team. Iowa City West has a couple of young guns who have a bright future and Austin Halls plays at a small school, but he he has big-time game.
It will be interesting to see who continues to improve, who grows and who does not. Keep an eye on this class as they have a lot of talent. That said, here's our first crack at ranking the Top 30 players in the Class of 2013. Let us know what you think.

No Ted Friedman from Ankeny? A 6'7" post that started as a Freshman and averaged around 8 pts a game in the 4A Central CIML playing against big men from Johnston, Ames, Dowling, etc..??? Pretty big miss which further reveals how terrible these lists are.
ReplyDeleteThere is 2 kids from the CIML! i think theyre are way too many small school kids who are on the list because there isn't as much talent at their schools as in the CIML. In my eyes, the CIML has the most talent in this age group. I think you REALLY REALLY missed the boat on this one.
ReplyDeleteDon't take this so seriously. Use the site as a source of names to keep an eye on. If you are left off, don't sweat it! If your good, coaches will notice you. I know of a kid who has had D-1 and D-2 coaches come and watch him play or practice 1/2 dozen times already. He is not on this list because he doesn't play one of the high profile AAU teams. Keep practicing man!
ReplyDeletemichael soukup, wheres steven, they twins and they are both studs michael can shoot and is a good ball handler and steven is a pure shooter they both for bound for glory
ReplyDeletemy bad didnt see steven haha
ReplyDeleteAustin halls shot over 500 shots this season he is GARBAGGGGGGEEEEE he plays on the kingdom hoops B team!if anyone should be in his spot its despaniard from danville. Best pure shooter in all of the midwest. By the way this is Dody Kuncan
ReplyDeleteThese are really terrible. you hit it right on the button with some but others you missed very bad. Is this just based on who played varsity and soph and who did not? I know kids that play freshman in the Cedar Rapids area that should be on here. There is no way TJ Lake is better than Creighton Robinson... that is the funniest joke I have heard in years. But go on and use your terrible research that you do. Smh.
ReplyDeleteSaw some good Sophs to be playing with their varsity teams at the UNI Team Camp.
ReplyDeletePlagge is pretty good and may have the 7th most potential in this class , but he is not the 7th best player in this group right now.
Gogg looked good from Linn Mar.
Nick Clark looked good from Cedar Falls.
Klint Carson from Waverly looked good and will be on this list by the end of next season.

I finally got the chance to see Kennedy Drey play in couple of games in Sioux City over the weekend. I've heard a lot about him but it was the first time seeing him play. GREAT player. Saw he just missed the list. He is for sure one of the top players in the state.
