Weekend of April 25-26

A good weekend of high school basketball coming up for the weekend of April 25-26. Several of the state's AAU programs are in action this weekend:

The All Iowa Attack are at the String Music Showcase in Nashville, TN... games start tonight, and there is a ton of talent in Nashville this weekend. The Attack have two 17U teams, two 16U teams, and a 15U team playing this weekend.

Bound For Glory and Iowa Elite, two of the newer programs in the state, are headed to Sioux Falls, SD for the Sanford Sports SpringJam. B4G is represented in the 17U, 16U, and 15U age groups, while the Elite has a 16U team there.

The Iowa Barnstormers and Iowa Mavericks are headed to the Twin Cities for the Minnesota Pump 'N Run Spring Showcase. The Barnstormers have 17U, 16U, and 15U teams in Minnesota, while the Mavericks have two 17s and two 16s.

The Iowa Magic are headed to Shawnee, KS for a MAYB event hosted by the KC Premiere. They've got 17U, 16U, and 15U teams there, as well as some middle school teams.

I think that's it... it appears that the Martin Brothers, Cornsharks, Knicks, IBCA, etc, are all off this weekend. If I missed any high school teams, let me know. We'll try to keep you posted on how everyone fares.

  5. The Attack did well at the String Music Showcase. The 15U team won the tournament, beating Memphis Select 73-57 in the final. The 16U team lost in the semi-finals by 3 in overtime to the Derek Smith All Stars. The 17U team, despite missing two key players (Harrison Barnes, Zach McCabe) also made it to the semi-finals, losing by 3 to the Memphis Magic.
